HISTORIC! SITE OF JESUS' BURIAL AND ASCENSION TO HEAVEN IS RESTORED 2 (PHOTOS AND VIDEO)

Before this restoration, what existed was an unsightly iron cage that British authorities built in 1947 and which encompassed the shrine to support the walls.
In addition, the black soot on the shrine's stone façade that had built up from decades of pilgrims lighting candles has been washed clean.
The renovation has also strengthened the stability of the old shrine, which hadn't been restored in more than 200 years.
