Chairman of the board, Mr. Emeka Odo, said the action was carried out following an order from the state High Court.
Mr Odo said sealing of the banks was to ensure banks take necessary actions in performing their civic obligations to government.
Sealing of the banks is the first phase of the enforcement exercise on the major companies and institutions.
“The institutions will remain under lock and key to ensure that they perform their civic obligations to the state government,” Mr. Odo said.
